Speedrunning & Speedrun moderation
Speedrunning is the practice of completing a game objective (or the game itself) as fast as possible. It involves a deep understanding of the game's mechanics, combined with sharp reflexes, precise route planning, and the ability to re-plan on the fly when a run doesn't go as expected. Runs are recorded and submitted to community leaderboards, where routes and techniques get refined and shared to keep pushing the fastest time lower. I got into Minecraft speedrunning in early 2021, improving until I eventually reached my current personal best of 19:28. Along the way, I played some category extensions, and eventually helped create the JUICE leaderboard (Minecraft: Java Edition - Unofficial Category Extensions) in 2022. There, I verify the validity of submitted runs, as well as manage the different categories and the community behind it. The leaderboard is currently nearing 2,500 submitted runs from over 550 players, with over 1,600 runs passing the verification process.
Minecraft Modding Support
Helping Minecraft players troubleshoot issues with Fabric mods on Fabric's official Discord server, in the player-support channel, most often game crashes, but also configuration problems and general mod advice. Over 2,500 messages sent in that channel, amounting to roughly 500 players helped so far. This means reading and interpreting crash logs to trace an error back to its source, then pinpointing which mod (or mod combination) is responsible. From there, the fix is tailored to the actual cause: adding a missing dependency, removing a conflicting mod, updating an outdated one, or adjusting a mod's configuration. Beyond the technical diagnosis, it requires translating stack traces into clear, actionable steps for players with no development background.
